3:14pm – report of a crash on Highway 101 at Milepost 168. Just south of Yachats. Yachats Fire enroute and requesting Pacific West Ambulance as well. Central Oregon Coast Fire is also enroute. Highway is blocked in both directions.
3:14pm – requesting Life Flight on standby.
3:20pm – Seal Rock Fire enroute. Life Flight is on standby from Salem. Life Flight has been launched due to a 40 minute ETA.
3:25pm – dispatch is receiving multiple calls stating multiple different locations. They are unsure if there is multiple crashes or not. Reports are coming of a crash even further south then 168.
3:28pm – Central Coast is onscene. Highway is closed. Directing life Flight to Bobs Creek at milepost 170. ETA is 3:50pm. Yachats Fire is onscene.
3:34pm – Pacific West Ambulance onscene. Having the Seal Rock Fire unit setup a landing zone at Milepost 170, Bobs Creek.
3:43pm – Life Flight is 7 minutes out.
3:46pm – patient is loaded into Pacific West Ambulance and enroute to landing zone. Requesting ETA of Oregon State Police.
3:48pm – OSP has a 20 minute ETA.
4:08pm – after much discussion about location change due to fog bank, they have changed the Landing Zone from Adobe Resort or Devils Churn to the middle of the highway on the Yachats River Bridge. Highway is now closed there.
4:12pm – life Flight is on the ground.
4:21pm – Life Flight has taken off and Central Coast Fire and Seal Rock Fire units are clearing.
